Daleks in Manchester for world record attempt

Daleks from around Britain are being called to take part in a record breaking attempt at the Museum of Science and Industry (MoSI).  Manchester-based MoSI currently hosts the Doctor Who Up Close exhibition and hopes to attract a record number of Daleks to visit the Museum on 26 August 2007. The Daleks which come to the historic gathering will have the chance to meet the original Dalek designer – Raymond Cusick too. To fulfil the Guinness Book of Records criteria, MoSI must attract 50 or more Daleks – people dressed in costumes which ‘closely resemble a Dalek'. Who's at Manchester ?
The largest ever Doctor Who Exhibition opens at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester on March 31, 2007 and visitors will be able to get Up Close to actual props, costumes and monsters from recent series. The exhibition coincides with the long-awaited third series starring David Tennant and Freema Agyeman and will feature exciting new items from the latest programmes once they have been seen on TV. Opening Times: The Museum is open from 10.00am - 5.00pm every day, except 24 - 26 December and 1 January.

Directions: The Museum is on Liverpool Road in Castlefield, minutes from the City Centre. It is clearly signposted from all main routes to the City Centre. Simply follow the brown tourist signs. Car parking is available - £5.00 (£3.00 after 3pm). (During school holidays the car park may be busy: please arrive early to avoid disappointment).

By Bus: Bus No 33 from Piccadilly Gardens stops outside the Museum on Liverpool Road.
